Compare tutors before you open the directory

September 2, 2026 · Editorial Team

Start with the tutors you can already see

If you’re looking for a tutor, the first hard part is usually not choosing a subject. It’s knowing which tutors are worth opening in the first place.

LessonLoop now shows you a small set of current tutors right on the landing page. Before you open the directory, you can see three things for up to three tutors: what they teach, what learners say about them, and when they hold recurring lessons.

That helps when you only want to spend time on tutors who fit the lesson you need and the time you can actually keep.

What to check before you click through

Say you need help with a class next week and you already know the time you can meet every week. You land on the page and see a tutor whose expertise matches the subject, whose learner reviews look relevant, and whose recurring lesson times fit your schedule.

That’s enough to rule someone in or out without guessing.

You do not need to open a long list and scan each tutor one by one to find these basics. You can compare the published signals first, then open the real filtered directory when one of the tutors looks like a fit.

What this looks like when it helps

This is most useful when you have a clear need and a limited window.

Maybe you need a tutor for math, but only on weekday evenings. Maybe you want someone who has worked with learners who had the same problem you have now. Maybe you are choosing between a few tutors and want a quick way to tell which one has the strongest match.

On the landing page, you can check expertise, learner reviews, and recurring lesson times side by side for a few current tutors. If none of them work, you can move on. If one does, you can open the filtered directory with a much better starting point.

What to watch for

The page is a starting point, not a full search result.

You only get up to three current tutors there, so it is best for fast comparison, not for making a final choice by itself. It gives you enough to decide where to begin, then the directory takes over.

It also works best when you care about more than one thing at once. If expertise matters but your weekly schedule matters too, the landing page lets you check both before you spend time browsing further.

What to do first

If you are new to LessonLoop, start on the landing page and look at the tutor signals there first.

Pick the tutors whose expertise fits your need, whose learner reviews make sense to you, and whose recurring lesson times match your routine. Then open the filtered directory and keep looking from there.

That saves you from starting blind and helps you spend your time on tutors you can actually book and meet.
